How is it different?
Impressionism is different because apart from other paintings it shows the movement, shadows, reflection and shimmer of things like a park. When the light changes one day and they aren't finished, the impressionists usually stop painting and come back again when the day is similar. Also, the painters try to use lots of bright colors sometimes mixed with darker ones. Usually, when you look at an Impressionism painting, up close it can look like blobs of paint but farther away it can look beautiful, colorful, and realistic. Before impressionism, painters painted for HOURS in the studio to get a perfect painting. Impressionists however paint quickly to catch the scene in the right time. Rain, sun, snow, and fog became useful for their painting style.
